COVID-19

Here you will find all the up-to-date information regarding how ChristCentral is responding to COVID-19. This will be regularly updated as more information is released, so please do keep checking this page for information you may need.

We are living in unprecedented times in our nation. In the light of the most recent advice from the UK Government relating to the measures put in place to limit the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, we have taken the decision to suspend all physical meetings across ChristCentral. This includes Sunday morning meetings, midweek groups and meetings, all children and youth work, and other leadership and planning meetings.

With the easing of restrictions, there are opportunities to meet up with friends and church family for a socially distanced catch up. We are not formally arranging any gatherings at this time, but would recommend reaching out to others in the church community to help ease the sense of isolation and separation many are feeling. We only make this recommendation for when it is safe – and advise yo to adhere to the UK Government Guidance.

Although times when the church meets together are very important, we do not cease to be church during this time. It is very important that we stay connected one to another, and that now more than ever we are looking out for one another and seeking to meet other’s needs as much as we can.

Throughout the crisis we shall be using this webpage as our COVID-19 resource hub,  a place where you can come to gain access to our online church meetings on Sunday mornings, midweek and also to sign up to give or receive support.  The content on the page will change with the needs of our church and community, so please bookmark it and come back often.

Offering and Requesting Support

To meet some of the needs of those who have been told to self-isolate, we have set up a support framework which will match those in need of support, with others who are in the best position to provide it.  The buttons below give you the opportunity to both ask for support and/or to offer help to others.  Each button will take you to an e-form, which we would ask you to complete and submit. Then, a member of the team will contact you to make an initial response and get the process started. If you have any questions about this, please email the church office.

Join Us Online

As we’re unable to gather together at the moment, most of our meetings will take place through the ChristCentral Youtube channel which can be accessed at youtube.com/christcentralchurch, with meetings and information updates being made available on our public Facebook page facebook.com/christcentral.ch.

Just like in the real world all our events are publicly and freely accessible and you will be able to both watch and participate in them, sometimes interactively!

Youtube:

Our main Sunday morning meetings will be hosted on the ChristCentral Channel. We also share regular updates, and a daily encouragement on this channel. If you subscribe to this channel, you can receive notifications when we are about to go live.

Sunday morning: events start at 10:30am, as usual, just from the comfort of your living room sofa instead of the John Pounds Centre. If you want to catch up with others in the church – and see some friendly faces – why not log in to our Zoom Meeting after the service. We would love to have a chat.

Did you know? Our website hosts some of our preach back catalogue.  Listening to previous ChristCentral preaches – a great way to while the hours away if you’re having to self-isolate. Visit our Sermons Page to find out more.

Journeying Together: In addition to our main Sunday morning meetings, we are also sharing video encouragements on our YouTube Channel. We want to find encouragement in God’s word as we journey through this experience together.

Facebook:

Our public Facebook page, facebook.com/christcentral.ch, which is accessible to everyone, is a great place to hear our news and updates. We regularly post reminders and encouragements during the week, so keep an eye on that page.

We also post a link to our Sunday Livestream. This is a great opportunity for anyone who missed the morning – whether you were busy, at work, or helping the children with their tasks for the morning.

Zoom Meeting Rooms:

Zoom is a video conference software which allows you to see each other face to face. Instructions on how to set-up a Zoom account and host a meeting can be found here. Some of our YouTube and Facebook events are also supported by Zoom Meetings, allowing us to discuss, share and pray together.

Lunchtime Prayer: We gather online, Tuesday to Thursday, at 12noon for half an hour to pray together. This is a great time to get support, hear from one another and to seek God during this time.

Life Group:  Your Life Group is a key way to stay connected and to ensure that we are supporting one another. Life Groups meet up as part of our Whole Church Wednesdays, where we gather all together, before splitting into our small groups for further discussion and prayer. Our groups are currently taking a Summer break – but will be back in September.

To simply attend a Zoom meeting, you just need a link that your meeting host will send you. Paste this into any Internet browser and you are in!

How do I contact the church?

With the UK in lockdown, many people are working from home – and we are no different. However, while working from home, we still have access to most of our methods of contact.

The easiest way to contact the Church Office is by email – info@christcentral.church. We have access to our office telephone number (023 9320 0184) – if we don’t answer, please leave a message and we will get back to you. You can also send a text message to our mobile number (078 8084 0580).

During our live broadcasts – we would love to know who is watching along with us. Please say hi in the chats – and why not send us your pictures, showing how you are taking part.

As our current circumstances have forced us to go online, many more people are able to access our materials, and connect with us. If you have started joining us, we would love to connect with you – and be able to keep you updated as the situation changes. If you would like us to stay in touch, please let us know here.
