Impact Training

ChristCentral Church needs you!

Impact Training is a year given over full time to God, to learn to think and live biblically. It is a mix of theological training, church based project work, personal discipleship and skills based training.

The course spans an academic year with regular training blocks held in Bristol. The training syllabus covers a wide range of topics including systematic theology and doctrine, working with the disadvantaged, kids and youth work, and building good foundations for the rest of your life. It is taught by church leaders from across Commission and further afield, in an interactive and informal style. There are a variety of assignments set after each training block to reinforce what has been taught. There is also a mission trip towards the end of the year, either in the UK or overseas, as part of the course.

ChristCentral is a thriving church with many opportunities and projects to be involved in. We are particularly looking for Impacters to work in student ministry, kids ministry, bookshop management, and web design/communications.

The minimum age on application is 18 and there is no upper age limit. The next intake start in September 2018!

We’d love for you to get in touch with us so that we can help you decide if this is the programme for you.

This year’s IMPACT Team is looking forward to all that is in store. Chris, Sara and Lydia will each be serving ChristCentral as part of the IMPACT year. They have been to IMPACT training (run by Commission), and have started work in the office – and they seem to be enjoying it all. They are getting involved in many areas of the church – Worship, Student-work, the Bookshop, Crèche, Discipleship… to name but a few areas.

Watch out for more updates from these guys over the coming year.

Here are some comments from our previous IMPACT interns…

Kirsten completed her IMPACT year with ChristCentral Church in July 2017. Her focus was Graphic Design and Student-work, and she enjoyed getting involved in various other areas of the church as well.

Kirsten graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2016, just before starting IMPACT. She loves being part of ChristCentral Church and seeing how God is moving in the City of Portsmouth and beyond, so she will be sticking around in Portsmouth now that her IMPACT year is finished.

Aude was part of our IMPACT Team in 2015-16. Aude lives in France, and had been with ChristCentral the year before, while studying in Portsmouth. Aude returned for the IMPACT training and to serve the Church, serving with our U-18s Ministries and Student-Work – along with many other areas of the Church.

Aude loved her IMPACT year, both working in the office and being supported by ChristCentral, and the great training provided by Commission. Her wish is that it could go on for longer.
