Adam & Nikki North took over the leadership of ChristCentral Church in January 2020, when Adam took on the role as Lead Elder from Tim Blaber.
Adam & Nikki moved to Portsmouth in 2012 shortly after getting married. At the time Adam was an Air Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy working at Navy HQ and Nikki was teaching in a primary school in the city.
Adam was born in Portsmouth and joined the Navy’s scholarship programme at 16. After graduating with a Masters in Aerospace Engineer at the University in Southampton (I know!?!) he went on to work with Harrier Aircraft with both the Navy and Air Force, taking him across the world. It was while preparing for his final deployment to Afghanistan that he met Nikki at a friend’s wedding in Cape Town, South Africa.
Nikki was born in Pretoria, and grew up in Cape Town, where her family still live. She studied Education (in Afrikaans) at the University of Stellenbosch, before teaching at the prestigious Somerset College. Nikki was exploring options to teach for a year overseas when she met Adam at a wedding. She happened to be coming to the UK! Adam & Nikki got engaged during this year and were married in January 2012.
On arrival at ChristCentral in 2012, Adam & Nikki got stuck in to student work in the city, seeing a large crowd gathering in multiple groups in their Navy married quarter! In these early years Adam & Nikki completed Commission’s Foundation in Theology Course making great friends with many across the network.
Adam left the Navy in 2015, after being asked to join ChristCentral as the Executive Pastor, bringing leadership and structure to the church. Adam & Nikki have 3 young girls, Zoe, Jemima and Talia, and they live in Southsea, near the Tenth Hole Café. Adam is soon to complete his MA in Applied Theology through Moorlands College focussing on the Bible and Preaching.
