These aren’t just rules, they are insights into God’s nature and likeness. They show us what He loves and what He hates. We can see what we are to be like as we follow Him and how our lives should line up with His nature and character. Exodus documents the first corporate (gathered) encounters with God, as the people of Israel are called out of Egypt, God sets them apart, to be a distinct people. They are the only people out of all the nations of Earth, that God has chosen to reveal Himself to and presence Himself with. As we gather this term and explore the book of Exodus, we are to behold God and experience something of His glory, our gatherings are to reflect a distinctiveness ofGod's presence so that lives are transformed by encounter.
