EXODUS 33: 12-17
Moses goes and speaks with God. He speaks with Him “just as a man speaks with his friend”. Moses knows the importance of the presence of God. He knows that nothing can be done outside of His presence and there is no desire to exist as a man who is outside of the presence of God. He wants all of Israel to know God’s glory and see it for themselves. Moses knows it is His presence alone that will set the people apart.

Exodus documents the first corporate (gathered) encounters with God, as the people of Israel are called out of Egypt, God sets them apart, to be a distinct people. They are the only people out of all the nations of Earth, that God has chosen to reveal Himself to and presence Himself with. As we gather this term and explore the book of Exodus, we are to behold God and experience something of His glory, our gatherings are to reflect a distinctiveness ofGod's presence so that lives are transformed by encounter.
