Sharing Your Faith: Could I Make a Difference?

From Series: "Matthew: Kingdom Clarity"
We’ve split this term’s series in Matthew into two parts. Part one helps us see how people respond to Jesus with doubt. In his famous parable of the sower in Matthew 13 that we looked at last year, Jesus says some seeds fall away with unbelief, some are tempted away by immediate gratification, and others melt away in the pressures of life. That’s what we see in the first three stories of this series. Matthew 13:51-58 – Belief: How open minded are you? Matthew 14:1-21 - Power: Can you trust people with people? Matthew 14:13-33 – Doubt: Who will lift you up when you fall down? Part two helps us see the gospel with clarity. Whilst some don’t believe, others do! That’s what we see in the second part of this section. We see clarity on Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, Grace Alone, Glory to God Alone, and Christ Alone as five marks of the good news about Jesus. Jesus invites his disciples to come to their own conclusion about him and he begins to preach more clearly about his journey to the cross. Matthew 15:1-20 – Scripture Alone: Who decides what’s right? Matthew 15:21-28 – Faith Alone: How can I be welcomed in? Matthew 15:29-31 – Glory to God Alone: What is all this for? Matthew 15:31-39 – Grace Alone: Who can help me in my deepest need? Matthew 16:1-12 – Christ Alone: Is Jesus enough? Matthew 16:13-20 – The Big Question: Who do you think Jesus is? Matthew 16:21-28 – Decision: Where do you find true life?
